Researching My FINAL Project

Updated: Apr 22, 2019

SO the time is coming where the final project is far away, but also really close. I have been doing all this research for this final project. I am not quite sure what I should do. I could present to a small group of people like the superintendent and principles (high authority) or a large group of teachers like at a professional development. Presenting to a small group is not inspiring though. If this is directed towards teachers, why would I just present to not actual teachers. But first off First off, what is professional development?

https://learningforward.org/docs/default-source/pdf/why_pd_matters_web.pdf

Professional development is learning to earn or maintain professional credentials such as academic degrees to formal coursework, attending conferences, and informal learning opportunities situated in practice. It has been described as intensive and collaborative, ideally incorporating an evaluative stage.

Examples of activities that contribute to professional growth and development:

Continuing Education.

Participation in professional organizations.

Research. !!!!!!!This would be perfect for me :)

Improve job performance.

Increased duties and responsibilities.

Approaches to professional development:Skill Based Training.

Job Assignments. Now I am asking myself would it be appropriate to share my studies here? Would I be given the attention I need? Would I be respected? The reason why I think it could work is because at the Pecha Kucha not all teachers went. In reality, not many did so this would be a good opportunity. Another final project I could consider is doing a gallery walk. As I have been researching, I have found a lot of failure poster presentations- https://ruben.verborgh.org/blog/2013/06/27/scientific-posters-are-ineffective/

This blog states some simple steps and questions.

In order to make a poster successful it needs to be eye catching and happily shows the GOOD and EXCITING things I did during the year. One good piece of advice for posters this guy stated was "would you hang it on the wall?"

At this point I think the whole poster idea is not for me.

I will be meeting with Ms. Mo soon to discuss the possible end products, but right now I am considering presenting at a Professional Development.
